Mech Combat Concept
Very rough concept of a turn based combat system.
The window is very small, so I suggest clicking the expand button in the bottom right corner to maximize it.
Controls
- Arrow Keys - Navigate menus
- Enter Key - Select Abilities/Targets
- Q - Switch between selection mode and check mode
- Selection mode allows you to select items from menus
- Check mode allows you to highlight status effects on characters to see what they do
- X - Cancel targeting for an ability and return to ability selection
- T - End the combat earlier or reset combat once it is ended
Basics
- All abilities have a type indicated by their icon

- Some abilities generate heat when used (

- All abilities have a basic effect (first listed)
- Some abilities have an effect that occurs when they target a character with the Lock On status effect (shown with
)
- Some abilities have an effect that occurs when the user has the Stable status effect (shown with
)
- Armor (
) reduces damage by a flat amount
- Armor piercing damage ignores armor
- If a character's heat goes over their maximum, they become Exposed (
) and take double damage
Status Effects
Lock On - Consumed by abilities TARGETING THIS CHARACTER; Provides additional effects
Stable - Consumed by abilities USED BY THIS CHARACTER; Provides additional effects
Burn - Deals 3 Damage at the end of the turn (ignores armor)
Exposed - Damage taken is doubled
Jammed - Take 2 Heat after using a Weapon (
) ability
Scrambled - Take 2 Heat after using a Tech (
) ability
Shielded - Negates the next instance of heat or damage
Enemy Overview
- Scout
- Applies Lock On to your team if no one has it
- Applies Heat and other debuffs to your team
- Frail but difficult to overheat
- Bastion
- Defends themselves, attacks with their shield, then defends their team
- Has high armor but low health, and is easy to overheat
- Infantry
- Randomly attacks with either their Assault Rifle or their Heavy Blade
- Assault Rifle deals multiple low damage hits
- Heavy Blade deals a single powerful hit
- Simple and tough
- Bombard
- Stabilizes themselves before they attack
- Their attacks hit the whole party for moderate damage or heat
- Moderately durable but easily interfered with
